Safeguards
How Parity protects your data, how outcomes are modeled and priced, and why you enter every trade at your own brokerage.
Your assets remain at your brokerage
Parity does not custody user funds or securities and does not place trades. Your investments remain in your brokerage account. Parity provides modeling, pricing, and portfolio analysis only.
You enter every trade at your own brokerage
Parity does not submit, route, or execute orders. When you decide to act on a scenario, you enter the trade directly in your own brokerage account. Parity does not exercise discretionary trading authority and never accesses your brokerage to place trades on your behalf.
You are responsible for each transaction you enter, for maintaining any required brokerage approvals (such as options authorization), and for confirming that the strikes, quantities, and prices you enter match the scenario you reviewed.
Brokerage connectivity is read-only
When you link a brokerage account, Parity receives holdings and account information to analyze your portfolio. The connection is used to read your positions and values, not to place trades.
Brokerage credentials are never entered into Parity. You authenticate directly with your brokerage through its own secure connection.
Authentication and data protection
- Authentication is provided through Clerk.
- Data is encrypted in transit.
- Sensitive stored credentials and secrets are protected by the backend.
- Brokerage credentials are never entered into Parity. When you connect a brokerage account, you authenticate directly with your brokerage through its own secure connection.
- You can disconnect a linked brokerage account at any time.
How outcomes are modeled
- Outcomes shown on Parity are illustrative estimates, not guarantees of future results.
- Estimates use option pricing models, current market data, dividends, and the parameters you select.
- Modeled outcomes can change as option quotes, underlying prices, and market conditions move.
- Analytics may use midpoint estimates that differ from the prices available at your brokerage.
- Broker records are authoritative for actual holdings, executions, and values.
How pricing is shown
- Parity shows executable and midpoint assumptions so you can compare how each may affect an outcome. Executable is the primary basis; midpoint is a secondary comparison.
- Option quotes are refreshed when you build or update a scenario.
- Pricing reflects available quotes at the time a scenario is generated and may change before any trade is entered.
- Parity does not execute trades and cannot guarantee that a displayed price will be available at your brokerage.
Options and valuation risks
- Options involve risk and may expire worthless.
- Covered calls can cap appreciation.
- Options can be assigned before expiration.
- Quotes and estimated outcomes can change.
- Analytics may use midpoint estimates that differ from broker values.
- Broker records are authoritative for actual holdings and executions.
